From The Restaurant

The unique culinary art of dim sum (Cantonese) or dian xin (Mandarin), meaning “a little bit of heart” or “touch the heart,” originated in China centuries ago. Nom Wah was notably New York's very first dim sum joint, and has been serving dumplings, scallion pancakes, fried rice, and sweets like steamed lotus buns and almond cookies — since 1920.
